Gaza Starves: Israeli Blockade Kills Five More Palestinians
The ministry’s statement highlighted that among those who have perished, 96 were children.
For 18 years, Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza, and since March 2, it has completely sealed off all crossings, halting the flow of humanitarian aid and exacerbating the hardships faced by Gaza’s 2.4 million residents.
The Gaza Government Media Office revealed that since July 27, Israel has permitted only 843 aid trucks to enter — a stark shortfall compared to the 6,000 trucks needed every 10 days to meet the population’s essential needs.
Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza have provoked widespread condemnation, with over 61,000 people killed since October 2023. The ongoing conflict has left Gaza severely damaged and teetering on the brink of famine.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice over its military operations in the region.
